General Discussion / Re: Dreams
This seems to be a common theme with dreams. Things not being complete or not able to be completed. I've spoken to many people over the years who aren't able to dial numbers on their 'phone or being unable to carry out an everyday task properly. An annoying recurring theme for me is missing shoes and socks and having to uncomfortably go about my life barefoot. I like it when Rush members turn up from time to time rather than this very unwelcome guy who turns up frequently in my more troublesome dreams. I have no idea why he should appear other than I think I was the only person at work who had him sussed. He played the daft laddie but he was very conniving. I've also wondered why I don't dream about God as I think of Him a great deal.

Feedback 2 - The Seventies.

Feedback 3 - The Eighties (I think this could be brilliant).

1990 onwards would need to be a double A side single.

Some bands do covers well, Rush did not. I'll pass.

I think that The Seeker was exceptional live.

I'd definitely buy a Victor / MFH flavoured output but it's not going to happen. Geddy's 71 in a couple of months so I can forgive his inability to make banshee noises these days. A nice little melodic song package would do nicely.

I read articles like these here and there recently. I didn't ever think it was anything but over after Neil, but I was slightly disappointed that he feels no one would be interested in any new material they might put out. I suppose the truth behind that is that they wouldn't make any money out of it. So it's beer, mustard, books, amps, signature guitars, unappealing collaborations, box sets, documentaries, cameo appearances, stationery and leather goods, wigs and haberdashery, kitchenware and food, going up. Wigs! 😂🤣

Might be a bit like folks' experiences when they're learning Gaelic. Seems to be that locals aren't overly keen on helping them develop their skills and usually respond in English. Might be a "know your place" thing, or maybe just more made up rubbish that I read online.

Beginning to become optimistic about being reunited with a bass guitar (my first proper one) after spotting something for sale online. I've been doing a lot of Googling and emailing bass guitar sites and got a couple of good pointers regarding the guitar's history over the weekend. One came from an old TNMSer who might just have given me the info I need to put this to bed one way or another. I found the original receipt for the bass yesterday. Dated 21/12/79. 2112 day 😁. It must be a sign. I hope it comes home as it was a present from my late mum and dad and thinking about it now my dad only made it through another 11 months. Wow, never thought of that before and wasn't expecting those tears just now.

Four minutes but should have been a line three finish. Picked a non word to begin with when I should have used the correct first letter.

Quote from: Matt2112 on May 15, 2024, 10:07:26 PMBit of a milestone moment today: the little 'un performing a song while accompanying herself on guitar.

Open G helped - you've got to start somewhere. :)

Any kind of performance is to be encouraged. I can remember being nine or ten years old playing recorder and harmonica, with a classmate on vocal duties, on stage in front of a packed town hall. Fast forward eight or nine years and despite being reasonable on bass guitar I found it very difficult to rehearse in front of a few friends and almost impossible at auditions with strangers. One in particular is a great regret as they were a very good band, and if I'd managed to get over that stage fright things could have been interesting. Not as big a regret as my friend though, when about to tour the US supporting Ozzy, broke his leg in a lunchtime kick about at work and was immediately replaced by a guitarist from the same street.

Six minutes, but with interruptions to feed the morning visiting vixen and the neighbour dropping off his key, so not bad. Can't figure out why my original line four isn't a word.
