Another iconic 80s film unseen by yours truly - Top Gun.

Definitely on the list to watch because the sequel will be released in May in IMAX format; and early word is that it'll be well worth the wait.

After reading this thread, I realise I haven't seen an Alfred Hitchcock film, at least not all the way through.

Perhaps I ought as he's related by marriage - he married a third cousin twice removed of mine.

Would watch The Birds. Brilliant and undemanding.

The Birds -Horror movie
Marnie- Psychological thriller
Rear Window - Murder mystery
Frenzy - About a serial killer
North by North west- espionage
Torn Curtain - Cold war movie
Rope - Suspenseful murder mystery
Trouble with harry - Macabre comedy
Saboteur Espionage thriller
Shadow of a Doubt

I have not seen them all, these are my favourites from what I remember.

Not keen on Psycho or The Man who knew too much.

There are two versions of The Man Who Knew Too Much, Hitchcock made the original in 1934 and remade it in '56.

Years ago when I reluctantly returned to the East Midlands from London I developed a mild obsession with finding old London film locations. I think I must have seen the film on TV because I bought the DVD. Just found some captures from it on my hard drive, I'd forgotten about these:

As you can see I did this in August 2002. Here's one of the captures:

I was convinced that this was Camden Town. I actually went down there to look for some of the locations in the film, I did find some of them but this particular street was demolished many years ago.

Google Street View would have made life a lot easier. But it wasn't available then.

I did find quite a few locations from other old films and TV series though. Some of them were easy of course, like this one from the old Gerry Anderson sci-fi series UFO. Covent Garden, filmed here in 1970 and photographed by myself in 2002:
