I was planning on a new cartridge this year and had pretty much settled on the Ania Pro MC for my P6. However this announcement from Rega may change my mind - the new Rega MM Cartridge ND7 is coming around summer time (TBC) for around £450 (the Ania Pro is £825). Ooo choices, choices.

Nice. The step from MM to MC I have yet to make.
I have been happy with my Audio Technica VT740ML, which is MM and pairs very well with my SL1200.

I'm using an Exact MM at the moment which I like a lot, but it's had a lot of use and I need want to upgrade.

Here is a bit more info on the ND7:  https://pinkfishmedia.net/forum/threads/new-rega-nd7-moving-magnet-cartridge.289398/

The Nd3 has come out first, which I was surprised at. I'm still swaying as to whether to get the new Nd7 or go for MC with the Ania Pro. Though I'm also thinking about a Hama Cart too. Choices, choices.

OK the Rega ND7 has been out a while now and seems pretty good. So I popped to my local Rega dealer (who, luckily is just a couple of miles from here) and have one ordered for fitting to my P6 on Friday. I swithered about getting an Ania Pro but they are close to £900 - nearly twice the ND7 (maybe another day). Can't wait, but it'll take some running in of course. Despite what Slim says - Vinyl roolz.  ;) :o 8)

P.S. As I walked out the showroom I noticed they had a few LPs for sale and spotted a The The album I've not seen before. Turns out it's a new album and I had no idea. It's called Ensoulment and is on my birthday list already.  ;D

Yay, I had the Rega ND7 installed on my P6 earlier today. I can't try it out yet as we are in the middle of painting the lounge. But Ian, who fitted the cart, did a little test for me. He had my P6 plugged into a Rega Elicit-R and Sonus Faber bookshelf speakers. It all sounded incredible. He has some amazing kit there and it's more of a hobby to him than a business. It's not a proper shop either, rather a demo/listening space. Hopefully I'll have my system up again tomorrow to give it a run in. I also got a new Samsung soundbar in the post today to replace my old Sony 5.1. Fun times ahead.

This is the place - well worth a visit if anyone comes up to the Preston/Blackpool area. Ian just loves talking hifi.
