Quote from: Basspedalman on March 22, 2023, 05:29:20 PMI feel your pain... I am a Letting Agent and the amount of downright underhand legislation passed by this Government is utterly demoralising. The Private Sector has, for years, filled the gap where Social Housing should have been built and now the Government is forcing private Landlords out of the market. The net result of all this is Rent inflation due to a shortage. I'm selling when my mortgages expire.
You're right of course and people like me just get caught in the weeds. We've reported the .gov website information being incorrect. Also the lady that used to do this job at our letting agent's has been asked to come out of retirement to sort things out for us, and many others. In fact a new Section 21 has been issued already - properly this time. My wife and I feel utterly drained by all this. We've had a buyer for our house since last September and luckily is sticking with us throughout this.

Looking through old cycling blog entries for a route I hope to do tomorrow and noticed that I did the same route on March 26th last year. It was a warm, sunny day. I even topped my tan lines up a bit, apparently.

It's April now and we haven't had a warm day yet this year.

Quote from: Slim on March 02, 2023, 09:56:12 AMI've been looking forward to buying Matt Hancock's book, but I don't really want to pay more than about £15 for it. It's worth a great deal more than that to me to be fair, but I suspect it will ultimately come down under £15. Well - it was getting there, £16.20 if I recall correctly yesterday.

But now he's been in the news again of course the price has bumped up a couple of quid again.

£7.19 today for the Kindle edition, so I bought it. The audiobook version only cost £6.49 as an add-on. So I got that as well.

Eyes sore today. Seriously folks, if you, anyone in your families or circles of friends ever develop any thyroid issue, please encourage them to get in front of a trusted optometrist at every opportunity to check for this miserable condition. It can be picked up and treated successfully at an early stage. Mine was missed by hospital specialists on a couple of occasions, so the treatment started late and then stopped due to the pandemic. TED is misdiagnosed (or even missed) only too often.

This troubles me. Apparently sections of the crowd at Molineux were chanting "Chelsea rent boys". That's it. To me that's juvenile, not a hate crime. Definitely not a matter for the police unless someone was actually threatened.

Quite - it's undesirable of course, but does it really reach the threshold of a criminal act?

Chants with effing and jeffing in them are at least potentially public order offences, even when they are singing someone's praises. Absolutely nothing is done about it and that's why what should be family-friendly events and spaces are very often not so.

And that's why I have no intention of taking the little Miss to a football match - not that she especially wants to, she's far more interested in playing than watching - but the principle remains.

Had cellulitis of my left foot 2 years ago after an 8 hour drive from Brecon.

Appear to have cellulitis of my left foot again after an 8 hour drive from Skye.

Ridiculous waste of resources. Low hanging fruit for the police, of course

Seeing the idiotic behaviour of my teams' 'supporters' this week in a cup match no less - anything football related incident that does not involves a player makes me grumpy. Watching my team on the telly in half an hour with big nets set up to prevent idiots from throwing objects of fireworks onto the pitch. Just hoping they manage to give us a decent overview.
That and the incessant racist and homophobic slurs every time.
Oh, and some 'supporters' of a Dutch team (PEC Zwolle) taking their antics to a pitch outside of the stadium where a group of teens were playing and actually physically assulting them, all after loosing an away game.

More and more I am disliking human beings in the wild.
