I slipped and fell down the stairs earlier. No damage done to me or the stairway, bar a few grazes here and there. I was a bit shocked though - must be an age thing

That reminds me of something that made me grumpy at the weekend.

What I actually said: "Shame the Northampton guitar show is the same day we're going to lunch with your daughter, I'd like to have gone"

What my wife seemed to hear me say: "I'd far rather go to the Northampton guitar show than to lunch with you and your daughter"

Newcastle city council.  Absolutely Fucking useless - and there's no way to escalate an issue, complain or actually speak to anyone, since every department appears to still be 'working from home' and not taking calls.  Outrageous.

I've 2 planning applications in at the moment - submitted 7 months ago.  I should have just built them both.
