The Grand Tour.
Season 5 Episode 1: "A Scandi Flick".

pxr5

Series 11 (yep 11 and the final one) of The Walking Dead. I was really just going through the motions to watch this as I've invested in 10 series so far and wasn't expecting much. But oddly it's very good indeed. It feels like it did back in the day and the new baddies are pretty cool. 16 episodes are out so far (split of course) but there are still 2 more to go on 02 Oct. I watched 4 episodes last night as it is quite gripping.

Red Lenses

You Season 3 (Netflix) - another enjoyable season 8/10

From (Sky Sci-Fi) - right up my street this, glad we're getting a 2nd Season to hopefully answer many questions 8/10

Pointless .. new co- presenter .. awful... bring back Dickie Osman
From The Land of Honest Men

The Unbearable Weight Of Massive Talent

Nicolas Cage plays a parody of himself, with initially very entertaining results until the film lurches into a join-the-dots Taken-esque yarn.

^^ Thanks Matt. This is on my list of to-watch movies. I'll not expect too much from it  ;)

Oh no! Who is it?
At the moment it's Sally Lindsay (Who?) and she is absolutely shite  >:(

However, it's going to be a series of guests in Osman's stead, including Stephen Mangan, Lauren Laverne and Ed Gamble amongst others.

Would have been better to kill the show off.

I cant believe I post on a forum that discusses Pointless. God we have all grown old.

Up

A "solid" Pixar entry rather than "vintage" Pixar, though they are capable of such exceptional standards that a "solid" effort almost borders on disappointing, even though it's actually still quite good.

This ticks all the usual boxes, it's consistently entertaining and pushes your buttons, though some of the story choices (the "talking" dog collars) don't really hit the mark.

But it's...solid. 🙂

Dug the dog has a spin off series of shorts on Disney+. We've watched them all more than once. Worth a watch if you've got access to them.

The Picnic Wasp

Watched parts of Rush Time Machine live in Cleveland. I always enjoy watching / listening to Alex playing a Telecaster. Vital Signs is technically fascinating as he pedals in and out of delay so precisely. The band's musical timing on stage was exceptional.

Suspiria

The 1977 original from Dario Argento.

Widely hailed as a masterpiece of Italian horror but I can't say I'm inclined to agree.

Yes, there are striking visuals and the restored version I watched on Amazon Prime certainly brings out blood red colours and superb lighting effects that dominate this film and give it a memorable look. However, I couldn't overlook its obvious shortcomings: shoddy acting from pretty much all the cast, an unengaging story and set-pieces whose shock value hasn't dated terribly well.

I'm interested to compare it with the 2018 remake though.

Operation Mincemeat

What a delight. Watch the trailer and you will get the idea.

Quite the powerhouse ensemble of British acting talent on show here, telling a very worthwhile story that I knew nothing about. A very enjoyable couple of hours.
