Marcel The Shell With Shoes On

This blend of live action and animation mixes cuteness and pathos and lays it on thick; so this is aimed chiefly at the tweenie market rather than jaded Gen Xers like me.

It's not in the same class as the likes of, say, the best Pixar movies, but it's a sweet, gentle film, more one I admired than loved.

First episode is promising. You do need to get over the contrivance that makes the whole thing possible. I did.
