That took a long time. A few months ago in a piece I read somewhere, today's solution was identified as one of the worst possible starting words. I only really attempted it partly for a laugh, and partly because I couldn't think of anything else.

I wasn't going to attempt Wordle today as my eyes have been quite painful of late, and screen time makes things worse. I think this wretched disease flares up in warmer weather. However, after a quick look at your comments today, I couldn't resist. James' post made me go for QUEUE. It drew the blank above, so Zs and Ys seemed logical, and so it proved. I nearly stupidly went for ZAZZY thinking it was really obscure before realising the obvious. I'd never had got the solution without reading the posts, but I don't suppose it's too much of a cheat given that I hadn't intended to play. Oh, FIZZY was my line two.

Well I thought that would be a quick one when the two last letters came up in green, but it took a good 20 minutes after that. I'd listed ten five-letter words ending in those two letters before I ultimately found one to fit.
