New album - first official solo album - by David Eugene Edwards (Wovenhand / 16 Horsepower) - Hyacinth
I saw him solo earlier this year, it was overwhelming, as is this album. It's immersive, it wraps around you in its grandeur and at the turning of the seasons it feels like it belongs, right here, right now.

Over the years I have listened to a lot of his music, seen him live several times and he never fails to impress.

Dug some of my old records out and had a Gothy/Punky day today (this was the sort of stuff I was listening to back in the mid to late 80s, which is probably why Rush's output then didn't appeal to me):

Fields of the Nephilim - Moonchild (12 inch Longevity mix)
The Damned - Machine Gun Etiquette
The Mission - Children
The Mission - God's Own Medicine
The Sisters of Mercy - Floodland
The March Violets - Natural History
Bauhaus - Press the Eject and Give Me the Tape

That Steven Wilson LP sure has a sound. Wow, so much low end, impressive.

Machine Gun Etiquette is an absolute banger! I don't know any of the others but I had a period when I was listening to Lords Of The New Church, Johnny Thunders and Hanoi Rocks

Camel - Mirage - this is a very pretty-sounding record. But in truth a lot of it is elegantly played prog-sounding muzak.
Kiss - Kiss
H5N1 kIlled a wild swan

Stranger to Love by Black Sabbath came up on a spotify playlist.  I was convinced it was Gary Moore singing.  Glenn Hughes' voice is so similar!
