Directly connected one of my hosts to the shared storage @ 10gb.. storage vmotioned it from local storage and it was flying... got another card arriving tomorrow to setup the other host... it's a pity 10gb port switches are so expensive...

I've just binned off the crappy Smart Hub 2 router from BT and replaced it with a TP-Link model. I can at last get pi-hole going again to stop all those annoying ads everywhere.

So my 2 hosts and storage all directly connected at 10gb.. also got my veeam backup directly connected to the storage at 10gb.. all super fast now .. and allowed me to clear out a lot of cabling which was going into the switch... got a spare pc which I've setup as a veeam replication box running Esxi with local storage just   in case complete disaster strikes so all bases covered..

^ I see he's suing his local council - er right, that's going to work - not! Yep an idiot.

In saying that I managed to lock myself out of 3 Raspberry Pis yesterday after installing and enabling ufw whilst forgetting to allow port 22 through. I had to mount the drivers elsewhere to edit the ufw  config files to disable temporarily.

Couldn't you just attach a screen and keyboard?

I could, but for me it's easier just to pull the drive.
