Scorchio here in NW Leics today. Lovely for cycling in skimpy cycling clothes in the late afternoon with a bit of a breeze.

Tameside. Strong winds here this morning (60 miles to the SE of the fallen tree) but nothing dramatic.

Agreed. It's only the leaves on the trees that remind me it's still summer. Sitting tonight wearing a fleece. I refuse to put on the heating or light the stove in August. Should still be sitting in the garden at this time of year.

Predictions are 28-30 degrees today, with showers in the evening. Then tomorrow, 28 degrees and rain. Looking forward to that  ::)

28 degrees and climbing. It's an oven out there. Last 2 days have been the hottest ever recorded here for September.

22 here, and cloudy. Rain this morning. Supposedly a risk of thunderstorms this afternoon. Then rain again later. At least it's not cold.

A month's worth of rain in one day forecast for Scotland today. A good chunk of that must have fallen already as it's not stopped since last night. Some areas expected to see half of their usual monthly rain in one hour (30-40mm). Thunderstorms expected later. Quite dark and miserable here today. Even the dogs don't want out and the local burn rising by the minute. It used to sometimes flood the main road years ago. Fun and games if it repeats that now with the levels of traffic we have. Still, about 50% of them seem to drive monster 4x4s so they'll still be alright for the school run.

We are in Kent at the moment and it's been very warm and very humid the last few days. Probably the same hot plume of weather that you are experiencing.
We've been down on the Isle of Thanet since last Thursday and the weather has mostly been lovely. We had the most glorious evening yesterday and today, although cloudy to begin with, we had a lovely sunny afternoon in Margate. We feel blessed to have had such luck.
