Still two members of the BoE MPC voting to increase interest rates!
What planet are they on?

David L

Unchanged at 2%. Can't really see how BoE can not reduce the base rate now

David L

Inflation falls to 1.7% for September. A likely base rate reduction coming from the BoE. Lock in those savings rates now!

We have about 18 million people in our country. And, oh joy, the poverty rate has gone down significantly from 810.000 to 540.000 people that live below the minimum needed to actually be able to have enough food to eat or put a roof over your head.

So, what caused this giant leap forward? They found a new 'method' to define poverty...

There is a political interest, sure. But it's not politicians that came with this new calculating method. Government bodies yes, but not politicians.

You're being far too charitable towards your politicians, I'm sure  ;)

The ones currently in power do not have the brain power to think of things like this. They have no big ideas, no grand design, they are too much simpletons for that.

So no, I am not too charitable toward them. I sometimes feel sorry for them, but that goes away fast and replaced by the comforting thought that all of this will pass.
