"There's no chance that we're going to get a drummer and go back on the road as the rebirth of Rush or something like that. And if we wanted to write new material, nobody cares about new material anymore. They just want to hear the old stuff from guys like us."

and

"Maybe the feeling is that it's just really about taking people back to an earlier time in their lives that they have very fond and vivid memories of, and I get it and that's great. And then you do it for the money. And that's not what we were ever about or what we would want to do."

and, perhaps most surprisingly, on discussing the idea with Geddy:

"He knows that I do have issues both physical and emotional with this whole idea. And he respects that we have so much respect and love for each other. I would do something like that, that he wanted to do because I love him and I want to make him happy. But he knows that I wouldn't be happy."

Never expected this would happen anyway.
I can only imagine he's sick of being asked the question all the time.
Put it to bed people, it's over.

The Picnic Wasp

I read articles like these here and there recently. I didn't ever think it was anything but over after Neil, but I was slightly disappointed that he feels no one would be interested in any new material they might put out. I suppose the truth behind that is that they wouldn't make any money out of it. So it's beer, mustard, books, amps, signature guitars, unappealing collaborations, box sets, documentaries, cameo appearances, stationery and leather goods, wigs and haberdashery, kitchenware and food, going up. Wigs! 😂🤣

I'd be interested in some instrumental new stuff from the both of them..Lee singing.. er no thanks

Really not a fan of recent Rush output - the last 2 albums anyway, so unless there's a change in direction I can live without any new material.  And with Geddy's voice shot, I don't think I'm missing out if they don't tour again.

The Picnic Wasp

I'd definitely buy a Victor / MFH flavoured output but it's not going to happen. Geddy's 71 in a couple of months so I can forgive his inability to make banshee noises these days. A nice little melodic song package would do nicely.

yes attempting those high and loud bits was painful (both to the listener and himself I'm sure) so something gentler where his vocal chords can reach without struggle might work

The Picnic Wasp

I'd be happy with

Feedback 2 - The Seventies.

Feedback 3 - The Eighties (I think this could be brilliant).

1990 onwards would need to be a double A side single.

Some bands do covers well, Rush did not. I'll pass.

I think that The Seeker was exceptional live.
