After mistakenly thinking The Walking Dead had nearly finished we've just kicked off the last ever 8 episodes of series 11 (24 episodes in total). It's definitely picked up in the story telling and the budget appears much higher with some grim, gory death scenes. I had a scoot at how the comics ended and the TV show and comics really weren't aligned that closely. My son and his girlfriend have just started watching from the very beginning - that'll be a drag, especially when Negan turns up. 177 Episodes in total in 11 series.  ???

Ambulance

Michael Bay (yes, the producer/director of old school big, dumb but spectacular action movies where the camera never stops moving) uses his new toy - a drone - to achieve some cool shots, at the expense of any coherence to the action scenes, script, story, acting and pretty much everything else.

Almost instantly forgettable popcorn fodder.

I saw the trailer for Ambulance, and it did not in any way entice me to watch it  :D

I've got Ambulance in my to-watch list, maybe I'll not bother now.

Perhaps a bit early as we are not even in December yet, but last night I lapped up the Guardians Of The Galaxy Holiday Special on Disney+.

Great fun for all the family  8).

It's not terrible, it's just all done so crack-handedly. It will fill the time if there's nothing better to do.

Speaking of which, being about 2 hrs 15 minutes long I thought it would be about 2 hours with the rest the interminable end credits scroll you get with expensive movies nowadays.  But, surprisingly, there is only about 4 minutes of that; maybe this could be the start of a refreshing trend?

Boom. And that is The Walking Dead finished at last (all 177 episodes). Overall a good final series, and as I said before a much bigger budget was clear to see. The whole show definitely dipped around the arrival of Negan, as it just dragged on and on - but I'm glad I watched it all to the end and enjoyed it the main. But I think many people stopped watching around this point.

At the end of the final episode are some hints of what's to come: The Walking Dead: Dead City, Daryl Dixon and an untitled Rick & Michonne Spin-Off. So 3 more series as well as Fear the Walking Dead (which I'm still watching) and The Walking Dead: World Beyond which was crap and I stopped watching after 2 episodes. There maybe a movie sometime too. (The Walking Dead will be my specialist subject if I ever do mastermind lol).
