Yuk!  Strats are usually such beautiful guitars in so many configurations - that looks like there's been a particularly malicious act of sabotage. :-\

Quote from: Slim on April 11, 2024, 12:41:57 PMI've just read that Janina Minge will be joining Wolfsburg on a free transfer from Freiburg in the summer.

Should her name be pronounced "Minje" or "Min-gher"? Either way...

Once wore a Fitbit for a while but the strap broke and I couldn't be arsed replacing it.  Never missed it since.

That's it really. :-\

The Cass Report. Especially how it's comprehensively vindicated and upset all the people it should have done.

Quote from: Fishy on April 04, 2024, 05:59:26 PMOh great so now another named storm approaching for the weekend... ffs

It's not all bad at least the wind will be quite warm...

Yes, that's something; on the dog walk last night, as well as the conditions being generally foul, the wind chill numbed my fingers. It's very frustrating having to endure winter weather in April. :(

I don't think I'll ever grow out of having a whammy bar for doing the odd "stunt".  The Ibanez Edge tremelo "goes both ways", which is a bonus.  :)

Not my thing aesthetically.

I've been sorely tempted to buy a Charvel So Cal for ages, and the recent release of the "distressed" models* has only made the craving worse; they're relatively affordable too.

I don't need one - I have an Ibanez RG Prestige and an EVH Wolfgang - but the idea of owning and playing one is so appealing that I fear it will only be satiated by an actual purchase. So maybe I do need one...  :-\

* EDIT: These are actually in the San Dimas range but the differences are pretty much cosmetic.

Any advantages from the clocks springing forward have been more than negated by the weather being sh!te ever since. :(

Analog Kid on this is exceptional.

Renfield

Nicholas Hoult and Nicolas Cage star as the title character and Dracula respectively in this comedy horror with plenty of cartoonish splatter.

Good Friday night fun.

Still scheming and planning about which Greek island to visit in August - one that would be new for me (Corfu, Skiathos, Mykonos) or somewhere we already adore (Pefkos in Rhodes, Kos, Santorini)? We shall see.

I certainly also want to revisit Athens for a city break around the end of October - two nights last year wasn't enough and there's a strong sense of us having unfinished business in that place.

Their most purely "fun" album.  Presumably like most here, this wasn't my introduction to the band; that happened with Moving Pictures, when I was eight years old - my older brothers have a lot to answer for.

I kind of worked backwards from MP, but as we had a copy of Archives in the house I made my way chronologically through that and have always liked the debut most out of the first three.

General Discussion / Re: Dreams
March 16, 2024, 03:58:37 AM
I'm finding that my dreams lately are tending to mirror the ebb and flow of my challenging (but rewarding) week at work.

The other night I dreamt I was causally walking around a nondescript but local town centre with Madonna, as she looked in the Into The Groove video from back in the day - but even sexier, with denim shorts that barely covered her hips and made her legs look better than I'd ever seen in my life.

We were walking arm in arm down a shopping precinct like teenagers, constantly kissing and clinging to each other, which of course in my dream was a massive ego trip - I had pulled one of the sexiest female icons of the eighties.

As soon as I was "aware" of my extraordinary luck the dream ended.  But it was quite nice while it lasted. :)
