Site News / Album reviews section

Slim, is there a way of having an album review section like on progarchives?

We all have an eclectic set of musical tastes and I always wanted a proper album review section on TNMS.

Moving Pictures / Classic War Films discussion
April 05, 2022, 10:03:25 AM
I like (if like is the right word) watching a war film the four films that have really stuck with are Das Boat, All quiet on the western Front, Cross of Iron and Paths of Glory. I guess all of them are anti war films.

The silliest war film I like is Kelly's Heroes, I will not watch Schindler's List because the subject is to horrific. Is Casablanca a war film or Torn Curtain which is a cold war film which is cracking lesser known Hitchcock film.

Then I thinking the silliest war film I like is Hannibal Brooks about an Elephant being saved. Wonderful war film.

I know not many on here play. It has an awful reputation of not being able to be filmed and is more fun to play than watch. Here is a video from one of the latest events. In an all glass court with def cameras, change of ball colour. Its a sport I play about 8 hours a week. And is known has chess with racquets.

Here are some highlights to watch. If you watch carefully they play so their rackets does a little hold so their opponent does not know where the ball is going to go until its being hit. Remember they are making it look easy because they are super fit.

The much maligned Alien 3 had a long slow birth. One of the scripts that did have the go ahead and sets were been made was a Vincent Ward vision so called "name of the rose in space". This vision was stopped at the last minute which is shame. Vincent Ward directed the brilliant The Navigator: A medieval odyssey.

Here is a link to what might of been for Alien 3 http://vincentwardfilms.com/project/concepts/alien-3/graphic-novel-in-8-parts/part-1/

and here is some more reading https://thequietus.com/articles/08736-alien-3-david-fincher-20-years-on

I think many aspects of his vision do get put in to Alien 3 but it obviously very different.

I really love new interpretations of songs by musicians. Rush have some amazing bands cover them. Even Nelly Furtado did a cover of "Time Stand Still"!

Any way I want share this cover with every one. Top link is the cover the bottom one is the original. I hope you enjoy them.

So different but both are brilliant.
