I was only thinking about Sgt Bilko the other day. It used to be repeated regularly on BBC2.

Since early May I've worked at Ghost, The War On Drugs, Armin Van Buren, Craig David, Louis Tomlinson, Dream Theater, Kaiser Chiefs (National Lottery shows), Glamstar (I actually bought a ticket to see these), Ateez (a K-pop boyband), Arjit Singh, Bill Bailey, Gary Numan, Anne-Marie, The Dualers, Whitesnake/Foreigner & Europe, Andre Rieu (X3), Russell Peters, Years & Years, Thunder/Ugly Kid Joe/Kris Barras Band, Ashanti, 2 Cellos (X2), Mark Anthony (a Latino/salsa singer), and last night the first of 8 gigs for Queen + Adam Lambert.

Still to come until the end of July, I've got 7 more Queen & Adam Lambert, The Capital Radio Summertime Ball, Billie Eilish, Harry Styles, The Boyzz (yet another K-Pop boyband), Green Day/Fall Out Boy/Weezer, 21 Pilots, Juben Natayal, Ed Sheeran (X2), Guns N Roses, a 2 day K-pop mini fest, Haim, The Libertines and 2 Lady Gaga.

I hope to score tickets to see a band called Voice Of Baceprot at a small venue in Tufnell Park in late July. They're a young metal band comprises of 3 Muslim girls from a very conservative town in Indonesia. They play in full hijab and make a splendid noise.

Quote from: Nick on April 18, 2022, 01:50:32 PMInteresting job, what band has impressed you most that's unlikely to be on our watch lists?

Out of the ones mentioned that I've worked at recently, it was the bands from the 'heavier' end of the spectrum; Royal Blood, Ghost. Not really my thing, but Stormzy put on a good show, as did The Lumineers. The War On Drugs were a bit of a surprise as I was expecting a country-ish Americana band, but live, they were almost a jam band - big guitar solos in nearly every song. The biggest surprise was a few years ago at Wembley Stadium. Pink played a couple of shows there and she was brilliant. A great show with a full band and she's got a fantastic voice.

I'm about two thirds of the way through a doorstop of a book I bought from a charity shop recently.

The Children Of Ash And Elm - A History Of The Vikings by Neil Price.

I've not paid for a gig since seeing Devin Townsend at The Roundhouse on the Empath Tour in December 2019.

I work at Wembley Arena and the standing shows at The O2.

In the last month, I've worked at Stormzy, Royal Blood, Simple Minds, Sam Fender, Five Seconds Of Summer, Bastille, Camelphat ( a rave featuring a pair of DJ's) Ghost, The War On Drugs, another rave featuring Armin Van Buuren, and last night was Craig David.

Got quite a cosmopolitan selection coming up in the next two weeks. The Masked Singer tonight, then Louis Tomlinson, Dream Theater, The Kaiser Chiefs, Ateez (a K-pop boy band), Arijit Singh, Bill Bailey and Gary Numan.
