Quote from: Thenop on October 31, 2024, 06:48:12 PMNew The Cure album. It is very The Cure and not in a bad way. It's a bit laidback but they were never the most energetic band to begin with. Smith's voice is still there, no idea how, but it is. So far (halfway) this would be a worthy album on their way out.
Love the songs, but my god, the mix is absolutely terrible - no dynamics at all, everything pushed to 11, cannot make out the arrangements at all.  The final song should be a monster..but it's just mush.

Lucky enough to have been at the Troxy last night - they were brilliant.

Went to get a coffee in a new coffee shop that's 5 minutes from home.  Newcastle defender Fabian Schar was in there on his own having a coffee and some cake.  He looked very handsome.

Quote from: Thenop on October 09, 2024, 09:19:06 AMFeels like I need to browse thorugh my entire collection to see what Rick Rubin production I actually have. Probably a lot, Beastie Boys, Slayer, Johhny cash, Masters of Reality, I could go on.
Chilli Peppers and the last Sabbath record?

Huge fan.  Looking forward to your deep dive.
That run from 1970-80 is unsurpassed.

Quote from: pxr5 on September 24, 2024, 10:02:35 AMStill fucking about with BT - they have become an absolutely shambolic company.

It used to be fairly easy to speak to a human at BT but this week despite trying on numerous occasions and at different times of day and evening I have been informed that the waiting time has been between 20-45 minutes. I've tried to find the answer I need online but to no avail. I firmly believe they're just mocking customers now, knowing that folk are aware that if they jump ship the lack of service will be similar or worse. I'm still open to suggestions though and would consider Sky or another provider if I hear better reports. I've had Openreach at the door a few times recently requesting access to the telegraph pole which they insist is in my garden, but isn't. Maybe the next time they knock the door I'll deny them access for a laugh and lock the rear gate.
Everyone is crap, I'm afraid.  Apart from
octopus...who just get everything right.
