It was still blowy again today, but David Coverdale had been out and changed the Westerly to a Northwind. Still, it made a change to be slowed down in different places :)

Thanks to the wind change I almost broke 17 minutes on the Harewood Road climb, just two minutes off my best. On my good bike and with a tailwind I stand a chance of breaking 15 minutes this year - although looking at the cracks appearing in the road it won't be long before it joins the long list of Derbyshire roads closed by land slippage. :(

That's a 40 mile ride start for March, hopefully the weekends will stay fine now.

I stick to the roads, but you're still not free of all the dogs that are on the end of those feckin' extending leads  >:(  Dogs should be on a short lead by a road, don't these feckers ever read the Highway Code?

Quote from: Nick on March 05, 2022, 07:28:51 PMI think Boris will take this opportunity to rejoin the Eu and I think the U.K. population would go with the decision. United Europe and all that. For Boris it's a blessing to reverse the nightmare that was Brexit.
What?

With the threat of unstable third world countries like Ukraine, Albania and Georgia involved?
We don't want to be part of the EUSSR!!!

And old Rodney Marsh held the record of drinking 45 beers on a flight from Australia to London, until David Boon beat it with 53...

No idea what Warney's best was.

Poor old Warne and Rodders :(

I was thinking earlier that I'd got Rodney Marsh's autograph when the Aussies played at Queen's Park, but he actually told me to "Fuck Off" :P

Personally I don't think our PM's competency and potential EU membership have any bearing on the evils of the Ukrainian Situation caused by the Russians, but I found this here online article https://foreignpolicy.com/2021/02/26/imf-review-ukraine-debt-gdp-linked-warrants-reform/ don't know anything about the people who wrote it, but it's reasonably interesting.

Wikipedia also say that countries perceived as Oligarchies are: Russia, Ukraine and the USA.

And finally, I'm sure Albania would rather join the UK then the EU as we gave them Norman Wisdom.

A fashion for long tables? Once the Ruski money has exited the U.K. we may well be in that queue.
But with all the dosh we can hold back we've got a better grip on their short and curlyskis :)

I always wear a helmet - mainly to placate Mrs S - as if you're in a bad high speed accident a helmet is neither use nor ornament. 25% of car driver road deaths are from Head injury and nobody clamours for drivers to be wearing helmets.

I wear a cheap pair of cycling glasses from Wilko. Mrs S bought them for me and they have lasted much longer than any supposed "quality" pair.

As a general rule, the more you shell out on bib shorts the better it is for your comfort. My Rapha ones are far and away the best I've had, but Wiggle's dhb aren't bad.

I say keep it up Putin, anything that keeps those Meerkat adverts off the telly is well worth it :)
