One of my very favourite bands outside of the 'rock / metal' realm. Alongside David Sylvian that is.

Geddy was a fan too.

I think my life must have turned some kind of corner when there is a Rush gig (of sorts) in the UK this weekend and I made no real attempt to go.

My mind frequently plays around with the thought that in a world of several billion humans, Paul McCartney is probably only the second most famous.

Why isn't it Saturn VI?

Please God. Make this the performance of their lives.

Strange how our love for this band is never uniform. If they ever come back (after the Rapture] Matt will have field day! I hope they open with Animate. I hope they still sell lager at Wembley Arena after the Rapture.😭

The flat lands don't sound too unglamorous to me as I think I need to shed about 10 kilos before hills are achievable again.

Album Reviews / Re: Rush - Counterparts

I like Counterparts. It coincided with the happiest period of my life being in a relationship I still miss to this day. I love its  clarity, edge and feel. Nobody's Hero admittedly is an awkward arrangement of sentiment and little thought out musical structure. I'm not sure why it made it to the cut. A re-write and a bit of TLC might have helped it become a possible for their next offering. But I don't wish to go there. The dips in Rush wonderfulness have always seemed to echo those in my life. Didn't even like typing echo there!

My worst fears for the FF gig really. Probably TS, YYZ, TSOR and CTTH as it's already rehearsed. I was hoping against hope that it could be fresh approach and Geddy would sing a FF classic. Times Like These would be sensational, but I suppose it isn't happening. Fingers crossed though. DG has always had a relaxed, imaginative way to present a show. He's never been a "We've got a lot of things to do for you this evening" kind of guy. I wonder how many words Geddy actually spoke during a live show.

I bet Geddy really hated that photo.

I've never read (heard of) Chopper but I'm thinking that for a 14 year old lad's stash to get a public airing decades later, you got off rather lightly.😁

Liam Gallagher is the puzzle for me. Was he pally with the FF?

Good Lord! What incredible photographs. Your father must have had nerves of steel to be perched up there even for a quick visit. I guess health and safety wasn't at the forefront of the managements' thinking then.
