Sweet Tooth series 2 finished last night. It's staggering how a really well made, successful first series can plummet to the dross of the second one. A real shame as this could have been brilliant. The story is fine, but the execution is severely lacking. 9/10 for series 1, 2/10 series 2. 

Next will series 2 of Yellowjackets.

Knock At The Cabin

This was widely touted as a "return to form" for M. Night Shyamalan, who has been trying unsuccessfully to make a film as good as The Sixth Sense for over two decades now.

While this is not without merit - the central premise (adapted from a novel) has originality and all the performances are good - it suffers from Shyamalan's usual penchant for daftness and corniness to move the plot along.

I can't help thinking he's just a bit of a hack.

Caught up with the first 2 episodes of Yellowjackets. Thankfully, unlike Sweet Tooth, it's still very good - but it's time for some answers methinks.

So . . . tonight was the fantastic Mission Impossible : Fallout.

McQ and company raised the bar yet again with this instalment.

Now counting the hours until Monday afternoon and number 7. IMAX of course.

Just finished series 2 of Yellowjackets. Very good all round really. I've read there are to be 5 series in total so not too much has been given away so far. But it's still gripping stuff and quite brutal at times. this season 8.5/10

I watched an old Barney Miller on YouTube last night. I'd remembered that they were all filmed on the same precinct squad room set, like a play. But this one had a scene from Barney's house as well.

Really nice gentle comedy with nice dry humour. Will look for another one this evening.
