Quote from: R6GYY on March 08, 2022, 10:29:18 AMI do recommend anyone interested in 'modern' Batman to watch the TV series Gotham, (currently on Netflix I think) which explores Gotham before Bruce Wayne became the Batman.

Whilst it is primarily the story of Bruce Wayne and Jim Gordon, it is also the story of The Penguin, and The Riddler, and many others. All intertwined. Some baddies that I had not come across before too - like The Mad Hatter.

Be warned that it is pretty gritty and gruesome in parts.

Having said that, I really need to re-visit Gotham, as I didn't get to finish season 4, and there are 5 in all. So I don't know where it finished.

Yes I started watching Gotham on Ch4 years ago then forgot about it I might catch up with it on Netflix.

The two 80s/90s Tim Burton films are the perfect Batman movies, I liked the the Christopher Nolan reboot but somehow the Tim Burton ones hit the spot. I do like a Batman movie.

I watch the 2005 film of Pride and Prejudice a couple of weekends ago and thought it was wrong so I went looking for the book to reread and we don't have it so I have just bought a 1964 folio edition. Looking forward to starting it.

I have also bought in the last week

The Enchanted April Elizabeth Von Arnim
The Franchise Affair Josephine Tey
Birdsong Sebastian Faulkes

They are major and minor scales using the whole fret board with a lot of finger shifts. They would be good for jazz guitar.

No fly zone and NATO getting in involved.

Putin says if NATO gets in involved there will be nuclear war. That means Putin will destroy Russia. Is he going to risk that? Is it worth risking it?

If NATO are not going to get involved and not risk the threat of Nuclear war, then we NATO needs to defend the borders of the West, lots and lots of troops and up to date weapons and cybersecurity arrangements.

Quote from: Rufus_the_dawg on March 04, 2022, 10:06:36 AMThanks for this Slim but would need a standalone dac linked to a server? I have conventional CD amps speakers. I also like to own the hard copy.

I use my PC, connected to an outboard USB DAC / amp. I have Paradigm monitor speakers connected to that, but I use Sennheiser headphones a lot as well.

I use a Linux utility called Clementine to play music. Organises everything nicely based on the tags.

I do have a standalone CD player but haven't used it for years.

I use standalone cd players.

UK liked the rich Russians (i can not spell oligarks?!) coming in the UK because it swelled the UK economy and on paper made us a richer country.

FLACs would be nice, but it's got to be better than putting up with vinyl.
