Series 1 of Peacemaker https://www.imdb.com/title/tt13146488/ (3 episodes in). It follows straight on from the movie Suicide Squad. I knew it had pretty good reviews (8.4 on imdb) before I watched, but even then these shows often disappoint. But shit, where the hell did this come from - it's brilliant. It's crude, rude, violent, hilarious and action-packed. It really is like no other superhero movie or TV show I've seen, and it's a real breath of fresh air. I was laughing out loud quite a lot, there are some great comedy moments. The music has a lot of 80s cheesy Rock tunes from the likes Cinderella and The Quireboys which really adds to the whole thing. Great stuff and stupid fun.

I started watching 'Super Duper Alice Cooper' last night. Recorded from Sky Arts, it's another Banger Films production from the guys that brought us 'Beyond The Lighted Stage'. I'm enjoying it so far. Loads of very early clips of the classic Alice Cooper band. Looking forward to the rest of it

Quote from: pxr5 on April 20, 2022, 06:46:42 PMFinished Series 1 of From last night. Really enjoyed it. It definitely has a Lost vibe (which is a good thing IMO), but more gory and scary. Coincidentally Harold Perrineau appeared in both shows (he stars in From). Obviously there are many mysteries and questions - so hopefully it doesn't get cancelled. 9/10.

3 eps in and ready for giving up... the kid from the camper van is annoying as fuck.. the weird bloke is annoying as fuck.. the drug crazed bloke involved in the crash with the camper van is annoying as fuck and the whole premise of it is just shit frankly...
Gave up and binned...

Worked through some more of Better Call Saul Season 5.

Just superb.  Everything is tight as a drum.

Finished watching this last night. Excellent. Fully recommend it to any Cooper fans. And a real bonus, the track 'Poison' didn't feature once  ;D

Finally finished all 12 seasons of Bones, and have now started on The West Wing.

Also, we have finished Harlan Coben's Stay Close, and have now started on another of his adaptations, Safe.

I do have a gripe with this one - Michael C. Hall trying to do an English accent. It just grates. Will try and get over it though.

Over the last couple of nights I watched The Rise of the Krays and its inevitable sequel, The Fall of the Krays. Not the greatest and I've no idea how accurate they were but they were strangely compelling

Bling Ring - a 3 part documentary on the celebrity robberies in Hollywood on Channel 4. I nearly turned it off, but it oddly compelling and turned out to be a decent watch.

7 episodes of The West Wing season 1 done now and here are some initial thoughts (even though I've seen some of it before) . . .

They really hit the ground running - no slow introduction. If you aren't hooked after episode 1, then probably not worth carrying on.

What terrific TV this was (is) - and the 40-odd minutes of each episode just fly by.

Seriously sharp dialogue delivered so well by a brilliant ensemble cast.

Excellent stuff.

Half way through Vikings: Valhalla. It takes place 100 years after Ragnar Lothbrook and it tells of the Viking return to England after the ones living there had all been eliminated by the old King. It's not as good as Vikings and some imdb reviews are scathing, but as long as one looks beyond the historical inaccuracies it's not too bad. But a massive blunder - a black African queen heading the Vikings at Kattegat - seriously!!

Quote from: pxr5 on April 24, 2022, 01:04:16 PMThe first episode of the new series of Inside Number Nine. Not very good this one and hopefully it'll improve.

My God, I thought the first episode was bad, but the second was appalling. I think they've really lost their way with this now.

I am enjoying it. Viking lost its way in the end. The last kingdom is my favourite Vikings series.

I did start watching The Last Kingdom, but gave up early on as it didn't appeal like Vikings did. I may give it another try one day.
