A two day music festival in Abingdon, Oxfordshire set up in memory of Neil Peart of the band Rush which donates all profits to brain cancer research.

I've just found out about this. A bit far to me, but I'm tempted - especially the Friday.  Friday 12th July & Saturday 13th July.

Went to the very first in 2021 as it's only a few miles away. Headliners were Bravado.  However, that was the only one that featured a Rush tribute which is a shame. The guy that organises it is a massive Rush fan and they do a great job raising money for glioblastoma research. For that reason it should be a regular on my gig calendar but I do struggle a bit with listening to Prog that I'm not familiar with. If you don't, it's well worth checking out. The Northcourt is a cracking little venue, Moving Pictures are playing there this Saturday. Normally a good beer on too!

Has a distinct Sabbath vibe, the way the song is built up, what it deals about. Prefer Sabbath, but it's a nice change.
I have to agree with Slim - very Spinal Tap
Might sound better turned up to 11

My everyday watch  ;D

Omega Seamaster. My engagement gift from the wife. Bought from a shop in Place Vendome in Paris ❤️

Pre-owned Tag F1

Pre-owned Tag...?

I would rather buy pre-owned if I was looking to add to these. I like the idea that they've already put in a shift for someone else, they have a history so to speak.
A number of years ago I found a really nice mid-seventies gold Rolex Day Date Presidential in a shop in Lymington. It was, I think, around £8K but I couldn't justify the outlay. The watch looked great on my wrist and I like the idea of that model from that time period. That would have been worth close to twice that now (I know as I still look from time to time).
I've never had the Omega serviced and I'm a bit scared how much it will cost. It's auto, as is the white-faced Tag. The F1 has stopped, probably needs a new battery. The wife offered to buy me an auto-winder for the Omega, should have got one when we bought it (2005). It rarely gets an outing nowadays. Expensive watches seem to be a bit of a financial liability, if you really want to look after them. I'm guessing it would cost at least £300 for a service.
All my watches are small to suit my small 'girly' wrist/hands  ;D

This is the official text of the finding:

It's actually about internal governance of their social media presence. There was only one breach of the code (Pfizer was found not to have breached the code on five separate counts, I wonder if someone at the Telegraph got a bit confused). And there's no reference in the document to "unlicenced medicines".
That's not the case in question, this is:

https://www.pmcpa.org.uk/media/cwvkqvyz/3741-case-report-28-march-2024.pdf

The panel ruled breaches of five clauses including Clause 3.1 "Promoting an unlicensed medicine"

Pfizer were found to have "brought discredit upon and reduced confidence in the pharmaceutical industry"

Very confused. Scandalous. I'm expecting Pfizer to litigate, they have the funds.....and considerable experience of litigation  ;D

Other Music / Re: Bought any Vinyl Recently?
April 07, 2024, 07:47:50 PM
I bought two new LPs from HMV that landed this weekend.

John Mellencamp - Strictly A One-Eyed Jack
Talk Talk - Spirit Of Eden.

Both are good pressings but I'm particularly impressed with Spirit Of Eden. This record is full of near silent passages and I had little hope that it would work on LP but it's wonderful! On the Parlophone label on heavy vinyl, they've done a sterling job with this. The lack of surface noise is mindblowing. It comes with a DVD Audio disc of the album too and was a very reasonable £21.99.
The Mellencamp LP was discounted from £29.99 to £17.99 so great value too
