Title: Heavy Prog Band Gåte in 2024 Eurovision Song Contest
Post by: pxr5 on February 04, 2024, 07:00:53 PM
I've just read this over at PA:

"Last night Norway voted to send Gåte to the Eurovision Song Contest - an international and very popular annual show (or even festival) not usually associated with prog rock, to put it mildly. However, Gåte is listed in ProgArchives in the Heavy Prog category. https://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=4263

The song Ulveham, while not prog rock, is both entertaining and powerful."

Scandinavians have a history of 'heavy' bands in Eurovision (although I struggle to think of this as heavy tbh).
Remember Lordi? Everyone's favourite monsters  ;D
How this ever won is beyond me, but it's a lot of fun! I'd see Ghost win though...Heavy Metal Abba that is.

Semi finals are on and Gåte have just performed - hopefully they'll make it to the final.
