What dy think of that album??

I think it's brilliant in parts but like a lot of his earlier stuff, a bit self-indulgent and unfocussed. Overlong. Have to be in the right mood for it. I never listen to the whole thing all at once, I must admit.

Always found it interesting that he released this as a double album and then the next album (Initiation) which clocked in around the same 66 odd mins was released as a single album  and side 2 was indulgent to the max..( but still very good imho)

It's unfortunate that such a brilliant writer and performer spent so much time fannying around with the studio technology. Best tune on that album of course, I assume most people would agree, is A Dream Goes On Forever - my favourite version is here on the BBC special from forty years ago.

.. about 31 mins in.

I did record it to VHS all those years ago but my idiot brother either lost it or recorded over it. You can get it on DVD but last time I checked, it was extortionate.

Ah well, at least it's on YouTube.
