Blue Oyster Cult - Secret Treaties, what an album it is.

Next up: Megadeth - Peace Sells.. really one of the best trash albums out there.

Should really do an extended post on trash metal and essential albums. It's noise, yes, but beautiful noise, ok not always. I'll have a think.

Edit: should really stop calling it trash - it's thrash metal, with an "h"

Have you seen that the first of the 50th Anniversary live album series has just been released (first three studio albums - live)?

Shied away, the band has not been very consistent live these last years so a bit afraid of what I might run in to...any good?

Not got it. Might see if I can listen on Qobuz. (I've added the link in the post above)

Landmarq - Entertaining Angels (LP, 2012)

I'm not really a big fan of female vocalists in bands, but Tracy Hitchings (now sadly passed) is remarkable on this album.

BÖC - 50th Anniversary Live - First Night. This is good! I have to, rather embarrassingly, admit to not really knowing the first BÖC record. Boy, they must have been on some strong stuff judging by the lyrics! As weird as a rock band gets. The sound is good though and the second set of favourites and deep cuts is great, featuring a few good cuts from  last album, The Symbol Remains.
They can still deliver

Tyranny and the debut go hand in hand. Superb stuff on there, nice & dark (weird!) and a blueprint still for all things occult rock.
Must check this live one out then, thanks.

In the last week I've listened to Snakes and Arrows and Clockwork Angels.  The former really is poor, the latter just as good as I remembered - a fitting swansong.  Shame the mix is so muddy...

My thoughts on both, exactly
