Nottingham Rock City last night (nearly the north) for WASP 40th anniversary tour. Great if short gig (1hr 20min). They are one of my mate's favourite bands and he went home happy.

Really happy that some additional dates for the dogs have been added..I couldn't make the June dates.  I like the records but just looking forward to seeing the 3 of them play...stellar musicians and Kotzen is a phenomenal singer..

Seeing them locally here in June. Skipping Kiss for them. They better not disappoint.

Wow, surprised you're missing Kiss, although I'm guessing you've seen them a tonne..

Seen them plenty and I have waived them goodbye numerous times. Last year even. And the show is the same as last time around. Plus my brother really wanted to see Winery Dogs. I'll live.

Went to see Riverside last night in the heart of Dublin's Temple Bar at the Button Factory - a small enough venue that has a capacity around 5 - 600.  It was pretty much full.  I was delighted to be seeing them for the first time, and happy enough with my location, standing around 6 rows back.  Unfortunately the sound really let them down.

Mariuz Duda is a fantastic bass player but the bass was so high in the mix that it seemed like it was the main instrument.  In comparison, Maciej Meller's guitar was barely audible at times.  The overall sound was really poor and there was a lot of distortion.  Wonderful musicians still creating great material and Duda is a charismatic front man, but the poor mixing and awful distortion outweighed all of these strengths.  The newer material did manage to fair a bit better than some of the older stuff.  Depth of Self Delusion was probably the nadir.  Friend or Foe was my highlight where there was a bit more balance and where the distortion wasn't quite so noticeable.

Hopefully they can come back to Dublin with a better sound production.  The crowd was highly appreciative which made me wonder whether it was me.

Dom, your experience sounds like mine last night seeing Gaz Coombes - was on the barrier and sound was poor.  A shame as the set was crammed with top drawer material..

Facebook says they sounded great - but Captain Ron is a very effusive fanboi...
