Moving Pictures / Sitcom Worm

I have this annoyingly vague recollection of a pretty poor sitcom shown about fifteen years ago (at a guess). It seemed to be based on some young professional types sharing a house. Not This Life or Fresh Meat. It was your lesser quality 8 - 9 pm type material. I remember a young attractive blonde haired woman, a couple of guys and a very loud, well presented, fashion conscious woman who I remembered incorrectly as a younger Nina Sosanya, but dozens of Google searches later suggest it wasn't her. Not much to go on I'm sorry, but if rings any bells with anyone I'd be grateful. I don't think I thought it was particularly watchable at the time but it's just part of the amazing capacity of our minds to retain unnecessary material. I'd love to able to file it away and forget about it again.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord,
And let perpetual light shine upon him,
May he rest in peace,
Amen.

Congratulations Sir Brian! Absolutely delighted for you. This is on behalf of all the animals you have helped. You're not a bad guitar player (builder) either.

Technology and Science / Moises

Just saw this music app reviewed on YouTube just now. It looks so good I thought it must be a hoax, but I checked, and it's a real thing. It allows the user to manipulate songs by removing layers such as bass, guitar, drums, vocals etc. Parts can be slowed down and much more. Where was this when I was fourteen?

Technology and Science / Kola Superdeep Borehole
November 27, 2022, 04:31:52 PM
I had never heard of this. It appeared randomly in my YouTube home page yesterday. A 12 kilometre deep investigative drill hole in Russia. I was staggered to learn that this equates to only 0.02% of the distance to the centre of the Earth. Fossils of single cell life were discovered at 7 km. Real mind blowing technology. I occasionally post in the Does God Exist? thread. These are the kinds of topics which make clinging on to a faith really difficult. Maybe that's what it's all about. Mankind's insatiable appetite for knowledge and learning. It's why I also enjoy trash TV like tonight's I'm A Celebrity final. We need an off switch.

Technology and Science / Tablet Security

I've always used iPads and felt pretty safe doing so, but I'm about to buy a Samsung tablet (Galaxy A8) as a gift and wondered if antivirus software was needed or recommended. As always, there's conflicting advice online.

Rush / Scratching That Rush Itch (Rash)
October 11, 2022, 11:44:33 AM
Sometimes, because of some thought trigger or other, or sometimes seemingly for no apparent reason, a Rush song will come to mind and I feel the need to listen to that track with a degree of urgency. Yesterday 'Halo Effect' bubbled to the surface of my brain and stayed there until I managed to have a listen. I thought this thread might be worth a visit for such times.

Food and Drink / Chocolate

I love most forms of the stuff, but there must be a scientific reason why a Flake is so much better than a straightforward bar of Cadbury's milk chocolate. Also, why does the centre of Lindor chocolate feel cooler in the mouth than the outer coating?

Rush / Neil’s Writing
August 29, 2022, 09:23:06 PM
I've often wondered if Neil has any unpublished poetry, lyrics or prose lying around somewhere. Probably not unfortunately as I think he was the kind of writer who didn't have a cutting room floor, but rather would craft untidy works until they fitted his requirements. I'd love to be able to read the material Geddy knocked back. Would probably just be another S&A though.
