Used my concert ear protectors when chopping firewood today. Afterwards lazily  hung them over an armchair to put back in their container later. They've completely vanished. Pulled the place apart. Gone! Hate that!

Me too. I cut back when energy prices were sky high but I'm back to about three a week now

Builders back in their vans again. Was forecast for mainly dry today but torrential rain started about ten minutes ago. Hopefully it will pass and the brickie will stay on site.

'er indoors wants to visit a new cocktail bar in Ashby tomorrow. I've just had a look at their cocktail menu. "we take our cocktails seriously..." and "we cover all bases" they claim, but I could only find one classic cocktail on the whole menu (a mojito). The rest are wanker kids' drinks like "cherry & vanilla martini" and "raspberry bourbon lemonade".

No-one's telling lies. They're adopting statistical methods to make the figures more accurate and meaningful. Anyway given that you're not a fan of the vaccines and that the jab-dodgers have died in greater numbers, why wouldn't you welcome the excess death figures being massaged downwards?

They will struggle to change the fact that excess deaths are made up of unusually large numbers of younger people.
"Jab-dodgers" 😁. Sounds sort of quaint, these days

I had a look at Our World In Data for the UK; the excess mortality figures by age tell the opposite story.

Beautiful sunny morning. The first in a while. Brickie didn't turn up to do some essential stuff. Work set back a further week.

3 year old lg oled tv looks like it's done for.  In the last week I've also had to buy a new toaster, steam iron and tumble dryer. I never take out extended warranties so I can live with the age of everything except the tv. Phoning lg on Monday but not hoping for much.
