I'm waiting for my traditional pre-Christmas stinking cold to kick in.

Cracked tooth. Boiled sweet.

Bit down, feels like 1 step forward, 2 steps back at the moment. Yesterday was OK, today my body feels heavy and my muscles tired.
What did I ever do to a bat? Nothing I tell you! I love them, nocturnal mates they are.

I doubt that, although Rotterdam does have a great Marathon. But mostly I feel there is no need to run 42km when I have a car, a bike, public transport and all that.

Ordered a couple of Newcastle tops for Christmas on NOVEMBER 26th!  From the official manufacturer- finally sent yesterday - unfortunately, they use Evri, formerly known as Hermes...they were 2 hours later than their time slot, didn't knock on the door or used the bell and then sent me an email saying they were returning to the sender as they'd had 3 failed delivery attempts.  Complete fabrication.  Useless arsewipes.

We've used air fryers for years here, well before they became super popular. So we treated ourselves to a new Ninja for Xmas. From Amazon, I didn't notice I was buying from a reseller but the reviews were OK. Anyway a week later and it's not even despatched yet and on checking the reviews again are a stream of 1 star reviews all shouting SCAMMER. Oh well, we won't have it for Xmas and I'll be getting a full refund. Some other buyers had bought presents from this seller and when the parcel was received it contained a phone case instead of a PS5 (some may not even notice until Xmas Day I suppose). I would imagine Amazon do some sort of check on these resellers, so how do they get away with it?

Being retired, I miss out on that breaking up for the Xmas/New Year period.

Got a bug - bums. As I keep away from people as a rule, so I'm not sure how I got it. My wife's OK, but I'm all achy and diarrhoea too. Oh well it keeps me off the booze for a bit, but why do these things always come at Xmas.

I hate it when Christmas Day is over. I love everything about it if I can block out the commercialism. Even Charles III stepped up today. I accept that I live in this new world without religion but I'm one of those gullibles who accepts the New Testament even in its flawed, stitched together format. I hate it when people think gospel translates as the truth. It means good news and I need all of that I can get these days. Good old Chuck and God bless his old mum. I missed her again today.

End of year TV. Cheap and easy 'oh look what fresh hell happened this year!', all with bells and whistles. Horrid! I turn to books - luckily I have a bookcase full of them, just waiting to be read.

A piece in the paper yesterday with the headline:  "Electric cars cost £700 a year less to run than fuel models".
Due mainly to the cost of fuel, non-profit(?)organisation the Energy and Climate Intelligence Unit(🙄) has calculated this would lead to a "petrol premium" of £10,000 over the expected 14-year lifetime of each vehicle. Other factors included excise duty and servicing.
What is not mentioned in this blatant pro-EV propaganda is the cost of replacing EV batteries which are unlikely to have a (useful) operating life of 14 years, or the residual value of a 14 year old petrol car against a similar EV with clapped-out batteries.
