An knife attack outside a primary school in Dublin seriously injuring 3 children and a childcare worker yesterday led to a  riot in the evening. An Algerian who has lived in Ireland for 20 years and has Irish citizenship is the supposed perpetrator.  Feral youths (no doubt stirred up by anti-immigrant groups) looking to cause trouble and get some new trainers into the bargain  rioted, burning buses and garda cars.  All very fecked up.  This in turn has led to the Michael Schenker gig being postponed tonight. They think they'll be more trouble tonight.  Teens looking for some exceptional bargains on Black Friday.

Wilko boss Lisa Wilkinson. Despite the Wilkinson family receiving £9m in dividends between 2019 and 2022, she blames Liz Truss for the collapse of the business and the loss of 12,000 jobs. The business had been struggling for ten years.

She blamed Liz Truss in part, but yes.

Office day today - training, so I brought my laptop charger because I was not at my own desk. meanhwile trying to track a DHL package that was scheduled for delivery today, left Germany yesterday and somehow got stuck on Schiphol airport. Contacted DHL 'this service does not deliver during weekends, we don't knwo when delivery will take place'. So much for overnight delivery, amateurs.
Unpacked my bag and found my charger missing, forgot to bring it home, Monday homework day so I had to order one online for overnight delivery.
What a begin of the weekend. I know, 1st world problems, but still made me grumpy.

My business travel these days seems to consist of filling my backpack with various types of cables, adaptors, chargers, headphones, laptop, iPad and a powerbank. Even then I've been known to ask at a Hotel if they have a certain type of adaptor/cable.

An additional annoyance and very first world is hotels that don't have a usb or plug socket by the bed.

Ate a cake from Tesco last night. Something in the cake caused a stinging, burning sensation in my mouth. There appeared to be small foreign bodies in the mix. For peace of mind I fired off an email with photos to customer service. It bounced back stating it would not be attended to. Phoned this morning and told to return item to store for a refund, otherwise complain via WhatsApp. Not happy with their attitude to safety.

You need to go higher up.  Find out who the CEO is and email them.

I had Scottish power essentially refusing to pay me £2800 from my solar panels (early adopter, 40 panels, 14 months worth).

I found out who the chief executive was and emailed them and opened an Ofgem complaint - received £2800 without warning 2 days later..

Probably shouldn't have liked this but you get the idea.

Trying to explain my very simple requirements to my financial adviser's assistant, and being stared at as if I was from another part of the solar system. This is happening to me more and more often these days. What has happened to human communication? Then in a light bulb moment it dawned that I haven't even started taking my modest pension, yet he's been enjoying 1% of it per year since 2020. Time to bin him and go it alone I think.
