Rush - Permanent Waves

Played this after watching a YouTube video about the album and it revealed an interesting fact about the LP that I didn't know. For a time after the album was released, Neil became aware of fans criticising Geddy for his live performances of Freewill. They were accusing him of singing the wrong lyrics. Neil dismissed them, amused that they could ever think that the band would make such a mistake with their own music. It turns out that, in the US, the liner with the lyrics on were printed with an incorrect line for the song.
My interest piqued, I decided to play the LP and check my copy. Sure enough, the misprint is there on my UK first pressing too:

If you choose not to decide
You cannot have made a choice

I would think that in terms of rarity value it is of little or no significance, unlike the unredacted "Dewey defeats Truman" front covers out there. Interesting nevertheless.

Quote from: Thenop on May 01, 2024, 06:20:11 PMYes, so on with the bag search, and I found one (I am very picky), but it's only sold in the USA. Ughh. My wife (who by now was sick of hearing me talk about a bag - normal housholds have reversed discussions I am told) uttered: "just buy the damn thing".
So I did, but before I did I had a clear moment and Googled "discount code Kodiak leather". Found 3 of them, 30 & 20% did not work, but the 15% did! So, had a 15% discount the bag I wanted.

All of this is a pre cursor to another rant how sh!t UPS is in delivering I am sure, but I am savouring this moment.

Don't know what you're looking for exactly, but I recently bought my sister a leather backpack from www.mahileather.com  Indian company with decent website and good reviews. Prices seemed ok to me and quality was good. Arrived FedEx in five working days including personalised monogram stitching.

Great win by Maxin van Gils in the Eschborn-Frankfurt classic today, he came from out of nowhere to win the sprint.

Plucky Brit Lukas "Son of Richard" Nerurkar came in fourth.

Quote from: pxr5 on May 01, 2024, 06:22:01 PMI stopped at a Zebra the other day to let some pedestrians cross only to be passed by 4 cyclists, 2 on either side of me and oblivious to anything around them. Cocks.
I stopped at a red light at roadworks the other day. Two cars behind me came by and went through. Does that make all drivers cocks? No, just 95% of them. Probably because at least 95% of people today are self obsessed arrogant/ignorant twats with no thought about anyone but themselves.

I'd recommend that all road users, from pedestrians to HGV drivers read the Highway Code, it contains all sorts of useful advice - plenty of which is based on law - to help keep you safe and reduce confrontation :)

Quote from: captainkurtz on May 01, 2024, 11:35:06 AMThere's just as many arseholes riding bikes as there is driving cars - but cyclists just seem that much more sanctimonious.  Prick.
As a cyclist, I know for a fact that there are more arseholes driving cars. When I'm a driver I know for a fact that there are more arseholes driving cars. Horse riders tend to be arseholes too.

Of course cyclists are sanctimonious, we're better for the environment :) Drivists have much more of a tendency to be Psycopathic.

Last time I scraped one off my bumper he didn't have much to say. Shame really, seemed like a nice chap, just got in the way.

That's how us drivers roll you know.
Yes. Complete and utter psyhcopathic bastards >:(

Quote from: pxr5 on May 01, 2024, 08:20:27 PMI've just picked this up for a couple of quid from ebay. I'm really looking forward to this one:

One For The Record - The Authorised Biography of Galahad by Andrew Wild

https://www.amazon.co.uk/One-Record-Authorised-Biography-Galahad/dp/0957007701

'One for the Record', the official, authorised biography of Galahad, charts the first quarter century of the Dorset-based band's existence: the highs and the lows, the challenges and the achievements, the numerous line-up changes (Yes have nothing on Galahad!)  including six keyboard players and eight bassists, the occasional madness on the road, the writing, recording, rehearsing and gigging.'
They are playing at the 'Prog for Peart' festival at The Northcourt in Abingdon in July (just down the road from me)
