Rush / Re: Hold Your Fire - album discussion

I couldn't even get through it when I first bought it on vinyl. For me it had all gone wrong with Power Windows and then HYF was even worse. I can value it today though, but that 80s period was the worst - my favourite era was, and always will be, from Rush to Moving Pictures.

Just finished series 2 of Raised by Wolves. Whilst series 1 started well, it got a bit messy later on. However, this series starts well and stays good throughout. Lots more to come as there is a lot unresolved - in fact there are some really weird events going on and it's full of mystery and intrigue.

Also up to episode 4 of the final series of Peaky Blinders. I loved Peaky Blinders, but this series is a big let down for me. There isn't actually much going on and I'd go as far to say it's really gone up its own arse - too many lingering shots, ineffective music without any substance, it all just seems so ridiculous and convoluted now. I understand the final episode will be feature length as a practice for a spin-off movie. I just hope it improves - a lot.

I'm not sure why, but I've just bought the new Caravan album It's None of Your Business. Maybe nostalgia, but it's a nice red colour at least.

Rush / Re: Rush's Greatest Song

Mm, Xanadu. Great and I love it - I really like the long intro and its prog roots are there to behold. Best Rush song for me will always be LVS though, but side one of AFTK is pretty perfect. In fact I like side nearly as much, but Cinderella Man and Madrigal are the only slightly minor points before the mighty Cygnus X-1.

This week is being unseasonably warm - I actually mulled getting the BBQ out, then it got colder and I saw sense.

IQ - Subterranea    I only found out the other day that a movie based on this album came out a few years ago. I've got a copy, but quite poor ratings  https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2291284/

We completed Se02 of Upload tonight. I think this is another of those shows affected by Covid as it felt rushed (only 7 eps) and it finished with obviously a lot more to come. 8/10

My son and his girlfriend were in the process of buying a house and the whole deal has fallen through today, mainly due to the dick way the estate agent handled things.
