Well done Matt, I certainly understand the mixed feelings, had a somewhat similar stint in 2017. Never looked back.

For me:
First day of my summer break, traditionally celebrated by going record shopping.
And assembling a new cat scratch pole. Now watching the Vuelta.
Life is good.
I am sure things will turn sour shortly.

Turning out to be a productive time. Did my record shopping Friday. Assembled a cabinet yesterday and the week is looking to be good weather. Nice.
Ordered a new cover for my e reader, the old one was disintegrating.
Received an LP I ordered, it showed up without notice but was flawless.
Can't say I had anything off-putting. Can't believe it!

Decided today I might be a bit productive too over the next few days. I was quite surprised at how expensive log stores are, so I've decided to build one instead as the garage is just bursting at the seams at the moment. I found a stack of old fence posts in a corner of the garden so if I buy a sheet of OSB and a couple of lengths of CLS I reckon I can keep this year's firewood dry for about £20. Quite looking forward to it. It doesn't matter too much what it will look like as it will be mostly under a large conifer.

We went to the Rotterdam Zoo today. I like the zoo, bit too much people there today but it was OK.
One of the rarest animals there is the Amur Panther, it is said only some 70 are left in the wild. Over all the years they've been there I was only to catch a glimpse once or twice but today the male stood up there posing. What an animal! Beautiful, Mrs Panther came looking what all the fuss was about as well.
Now That made my day.

I hate clowns, they are rarely actually funny and once the greasepaint comes off they are miserable gits

Great picture of a magnificent animal. What a perfect pose in lovely sunlight.

I haven't visited a zoo since childhood. Loved it then when I was too young to analyse the situation. They've become essential for their conservation work and breeding programs and I have to commend them for that, but I would find a visit difficult now.

Cut the front privet hedge as the weather is so good. Swept up most of the larger bits and pieces, then the wind picked up and blew all those tiny fiddly bits away.

Mowed the back garden's over-grown lawn in wonderfully warm sunshine this morning.

Then this afternoon I really took advantage of my week off in the glorious weather and, erm, went to the cinema. ;D
