Who are these wankers that start clapping when a plane lands... presumably they applaud themselves when they drive to Tesco  safely every week..

Album Reviews / Victor

Been enjoying Envy of None which I never thought i wqould judging by the early song  releases so thought I would give Victor another spin which I hadn't listedned to for ages and have say now enjoying this much more than I remember..

Was in Tower Records in London in 96 when I came across this.. the cover looked like Alex Lifeson but nothing on the CD to make a definite ID... just Victor..

Anyway a nice departure from Rush with this album.. quite dark themes, dark lyrics and guitar right in your face from the off... some wonderful solos in some of the tracks Shut Up Shuttin' Up, Strip and Go Naked.
Plenty of synthy stuff going on particularly with the title track and At The end  and big Al doing some talking/singing kinda stuff....

A wonderful melange of tracks on this album..its def. worth checking out

Instant  like for this album...think it was Tommy Vance as usual that heralded its release by playing New World Man..
side one for me was just top notch.. was loving the extra keyboard stuff going on and The Police like guitar sound...  Countdown was ok but weakest track on the album for me...
God knows why i never did Inglistion again for the tour but i missed that one...

Sorry to hear about this...
Loved quite a lot of Vangelis altho a couple of alabums have been roundly criticied as being fucking terrible.. namely See You Later and Beaubourg
Bit annoyed thats he's soley remembered as the bloke who wrote Chariots of fire.. yes he did but he has an absolute wealth of other albums
Heaven and Hell
Albedo 0.39
China
Spiral
Soil Festivities
Silent Portraits
Oceanic
Juno to Jupiter
Rosetta and a ton more...

Yes Jon and Vangelis did a few albums.. first couple were really good Short Stories and The Friends of Mr Cairo...never really listened to later stuff..
Anyway sorry to see you go big guy....

Anyone know how accommodating BT are if you wanted the incoming copper line which would be replaced for fibre if going down the FTTP option routed to another part of the house?

You could hang your own router off the one supplied with the service if necessary. I do this with an old router in my garage so I can have wifi in there, connected via ethernet over mains to the main router.
Got a virtual Cisco wlan controller running with Access points around the house and garage so wifi is in pretty  good shape
