The redoubtable 3rd Gen Echo Dot is presently available for £21.99 from Amazon, at least for Prime members.

The 4th Gen Dot is available for £24.99 which is also a good price of course, although I have both and have never noticed a difference in audio quality or functionality.

But both are a big improvement over the 2nd Gen Dot, if you have one of those and are thinking of upgrading.
There's now a 5th Gen Echo Dot, available for £26.99 at the moment. Supposedly an upgrade in audio performance over the 4G Dot, but since I never noticed an improvement in that respect from the 3G to the 4G, I'll probably pass.

The 3G dot, which is a brilliant device, is available for £16.99. That's a steal for a voice-controlled Internet radio that will tell you the time, tell you what the weather's like tomorrow, read you the news, play music on request, tell you how many days until Christmas etc etc

Yes those 3G dots are great - I have 2 which is enough for me. I must admit my wife uses it mainly to find out how old someone famous is lol. In saying that it does report my video doorbell notifications and I can use it to control my hi-fi, which is super lazy I know - but cool too. 8)
We have quite a few Echo devices now. 3 or 4 Echo Dots, 1 x Echo and 2 x Echo Show 5 devices I think. Oh and 2 or 3 Echo plugs or whatever they are called.
Another use I have for them is to read my Audible books on. I also have the Audible player on my phone to use over bluetooth in the car, and by some electronic/software magic, each happily and seamlessly picks up playing where the other stopped. Cracking use of tech to me.
