Side 1 of AFTK is just great.. never tire of listening to it.. was the first album I heard so always have a nice feeling when I hear it.. side 2 on the other hand not so much.. Cygnus I have to say just bores me now.. Madrigal you got to wonder like why??? the other two tracks.. a couple of inoffensive radio friendly songs

Back on the Ayr to Troon National 7 route again with the Mrs.. another sunshiney day with a pretty cold breeze blowing.. decided @Troon to follow a local cycle network route further on to Barassie which lead us nicely down to its seafront.. glorious views of Arran and Alisa Craig....bit of a head wind heading home via Troon and the national 7 route... no plane spotters today at Prestwick....

24 miles round trip with a stop in Troon for a small cone 99...

Quote from: Fishy on March 18, 2022, 08:18:12 PMAll in all a very satisfying day. I never knew so many aircraft spotters hung about Prestwick airport...
Were there any planes to spot?

They were getting very excited about a private jet that landed as we were going by.. I asked one of the blokes if it was anyone special.. he said no...

On the way back from Troon saw a 747 Cargo plane coming into land.. very impressive..

In my younger days I was a train spotter....old trains good new trains utter shit...

Thanks to CalMac ferries fucking up our trip to Arran we decided to seize the day and cycle out from Ayr to Troon.. a round trip of 22 ish miles all in all very relaxed and enjoyable.... Followed the national route 7 signs from Ayr seafront out to Prestwick past the airport then picked up a cycle route running next to  the main railway out to Royal Troon golf club then dropping onto Troon seafront and into the the town. Grabbed a superb toastie at a small cafe called the Drift and pleasant  conversation with a guy who was asking about our bikes etc....
Took pretty much exact route back home into a fairly strong head wind.. where upon we opened the bar and got stuck into some white/red wine respectively

All in all a very satisfying day. I never knew so many aircraft spotters hung about Prestwick airport...

BA2 is now the dominant one in Scotland with numbers going sky high again.. one of the regular virus people reckons we'll hit the peak in a couple of weeks and it may slowly burn itselfs out as there will a lot less people for it to infect.

Took me a while to appreciate this album.. ITIGB is complete pants but the rest of the album is quite wonderful.. it's one of these without this there would never have been 2112/AFTK etc etc.... Def. a step up from the first/second albums....

Never bothered with needles so the vaccines were fine... managed to test positive last June 10 wife's birthday of all days....bit of a runny nose lost my taste and smell for about a week but otherwise fine.. Weather was good so pretty much stayed out the way sitting in the back garden in the sunshine....like I said to most folks at the time I've had colds that were a lot worse than this.... tested negative a week later
Fish junior tested positive last week but he has a place of his now so isolating not a problem.... Cold like symptoms sore throat/ headache/ loss of appetite but I think he's now on the mend...
Numbers up here in Scotland on the ruse again.. hospitals numbers end of Jan were about 800 now over 1600..numbers in ICU tho are still very low
Still wearing masks to shops / public transport but noticed at the theatre last Friday many people seem to have stopped wearing masks....
I'll stick with them for now methinks
